Gartmorn Dam Country Park

by Linda & Kevin Williams

This circular walk follows an un-tarred path around the dam. The path on the visitor centre side undulates, but is level on the far side. This walk is popular with families and cyclists. Numerous fishermen were seen. An accessible bird hide is available on the opposite side of the dam to the visitor centre. A notice on its door said to get a key from visitor centre. Ramp up to hide was short and steep.

Refreshments
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a selection of sweets can be bought within the Gartmorn Dam Visitor Centre.

The park gates are open from 8.30 am until dusk every day. The visitor centre is open daily from April to September until 7:00 pm
