Fife & Stirlingshire
Dunfermline to Clackmannan

by Linda & Kevin Williams

My name is Linda Williams and I have been exploring the Scottish countryside on my Electric Mobility Rascal with my husband, Kevin, for the past 4 years. I met Eva McCracken, author of "Walking on Wheels" and she asked if I would share some of my walks with you on this website.

During the summer of 2010 my husband and I explored the off road cycle route from Fife to Stirlingshire. We parked just south of the A907 on William Street, Dunfermline, in a small Car Park at the beginning of The West Fife Cycle Way. The former Dunfermline to Alloa railway has been transformed into a wonderful traffic free route for cyclists, walkers and horse riders. The 17.5 km is all very pretty and scooterable. The part to Clackmannan is all off road and tarmacked, though by bike is possible to go all the way to Alloa, using on road sections after this part.

Near the end of the route is an old tall, square, chimney which on exploring, Kevin advised me had been what looked like an old kiln.
